Baby Matteo ~

Aida + Matt were married in 2011 – they had such a beautiful wedding! I felt so lucky to be able to be a part of their wedding day and now they recently welcomed their first son – Matteo.  What a little cutie! He weighed just 4 lbs 60z when he was born – just a tiny lttle dude – but very healthy! I was so happy that they asked me to come by and get some shots of him this small. They grow up so fast!

The Oaks Wedding Photography | Maryland Wedding Photography | Julie + Adam

“Together is a wonderful place to be” – was the quote that Julie + Adam displayed on a vintage chalkboard on their wedding day. It was the day before hurricane Sandy hit, all was still and the light was incredible – the kind of light every photographer hopes for. Just bright enough with a cloud blanket filtering the sun, to let through a soft enveloping glow that wraps your subjects so perfectly… Both Missy and I arrived at the Oaks – one of our favorite venues – and it was like coming home, because everyone at the Oaks is so, so nice. It is a wonderful place for a wedding – very peaceful and intimate. I always love going there – it reminds me of an old New England House – with lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in. Julie’s Family actually owns a samll house in St. Michael’s MD, so they are very familiar with the area.

Julie + Adam had a first look at the corner of the famous Red Barn on The Oaks property – then we did all the pictures of family and bridal party right there. They had their ceremony on the lawn, along with the cocktail hour – then went inside for dinner and dancing. I was in love with Julie’s bouquets that she purchased on Etsy – hand made flowers that had such amazing texture and detail. They were very unique and personal, and fit perfectly with the vintage feel of the day. They ended the night with an exit through sparklers out in front of The Oaks. Congrats you two – thanks for allowing both Missy and I to document your day!

Jefferson Memorial Wedding | Washington DC Wedding | Joseph + Albie

“Love is the poetry of the senses” – Honore de Balzac.  Joseph + Albie hired me online to shoot their picturesque ceremony at The Jefferson Memorial in the springtime. I had never met them – but had spoken to them via email many times. When they walked up I was so struck by how these two felt about eachother. I could tell right away that they were so happy and ready to commit themselves to marriage. The fact they they were both gorgeous didn’t hurt either!! We started out at the Lincoln Memorial, amidst the construction of the reflecting pool – it was drained and there were trucks lining the sides – not what you picture in your head for wedding shots at The Lincoln! We conquered the constuction however – and got some really cute images. I even got them to wear some goofy glasses for a couple of shots!  We then rode over to The Jefferson to get ready for the ceremony. The weather was perfect and with family watching, they said their vows amongst the cherry blossoms … I was so happy to be able to be a part of such a wonderful day!

Sunset Hills Vineyard | Winery Wedding | Kasey + Aron

I love weddings at Vineyards – Kasey + Aron were married at Sunset Hills Winery in Purcellville, VA. Their vibrant flowers captured the fall season perfectly,  featuring bright oranges, reds and yellows. I loved how this winery was set on a hill and had a farm feel, complete with a cool silo.  I have to admit – I have not taken advantage of all the amazing wineries in the Northern Virginia area – this day made me really want to do a weekend trip out near the Shenandoah to go wine tasting – especially in the fall when the air is crisp and you get that autumn light that seems like it was painted there just for you. I know Kasey and Aron had an amazing day….both myself and my second shooter, Barbara Sigler, were so glad to be a part of it!

Engagement Session | Julie + Adam | County Fair

Oh how I love the fair! The Montgomery County Fair that is. I have been going to the Montgomery County Fair ever since high school. I remember spending my youth perusing the crowd wondering who was there this year. I love the smells, the warm air, and the array of vibrant colors. It defines summer to me. I took Julie + Adam there for their Engagement Session because they wanted something different.  We went on the carousel, ate some candy apples, and got to do some people watching too! I can’t wait till summer rolls around again so I can go and have just one more funnel cake! Hope you enjoy!
