Family Portraits, Holiday Portraits

The Bello Family ~ Holiday Portraits
I can’t say enough about this wonderful family! I photographed Courtney Bello Bishop’s wedding in 2006 at Ladew gardens in Monkton MD and have been photographing various events for her mom Regina’s business, The Monogram Shop in Baltimore ever since then. I have watched all the kids in the family get bigger, including Courtney & Matt’s now 3 kids and I was thrilled when she asked me to do some family holiday shots this past December. Courtney has 1 sister, Regan and 5 brothers. One of her brothers works at a horse farm in Sparks Glencoe, MD so we decided to do them there…what an amazing location! We planned ahead and tried to keep each family color coordinated which makes such a big difference with family pictures.  I was a bit obsessed with Courtney’s daughter’s red cowboy boots – but who wouldn’t be, look how cute they are!! I could have done a whole series on those boots alone! I love how they turned out! Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Engagement Session Baltimore, Hampden Engagement Session

Charles + Caitlin Engagement Session
I love couples who are willing to think outside the box and try new places for engagement sessions. Charles and Caitlin are getting married this coming June at the American Visionary Art Museum and had an great idea for their engagement pics – someplace urban like Hampden in Baltimore. We met at Cafe Hon on a Sunday and found all sorts of nooks and crannies inside stores and restaurants up and down 36th Street. We had so much fun! I love all the funky shops there. We even managed to get a couple of shots with their dog. Congrats you guys!

The Oaks Wedding, Maryland Wedding

Catherine + Brendan, The Oaks, Royal Oak, MD
When I first spoke with Catherine I knew this was my type of bride – she booked me over the phone  while she was driving! Both Catherine + Brendan live in California and went to a wedding at The Oaks and fell in love with it – so decided to have their nuptials there. I love bringing out the personalities of people through their pictures – this was an easy task with these two – they were nuts! I love them! They had such great energy all day – I have to think they must have such an awesome marriage from the way they looked at eachother and interacted that day. They decided to have a boat bring them back from their ceremony to their reception and we got some really cute shots on the water. It was a great moment for them to spend together as well – I tried to hide a bit so they could enjoy their first “private time” as husband and wife – hence the shots from the floor of the boat! For their reception I loved the branches they used on the tables with votives hanging from them – so different! I love working at The Oaks, I love the challenge of making a venue I photograph so much
different each time I work there. I was there about a month after Catherine + Brendan’s wedding and can’t wait to post those pics – they are amazing!! There are many different areas at the Oaks – one more beautiful than the next!
Congrats Catherine + Brendan!!

Maryland Wedding, Stone Manor Wedding

 Sam + John

I love working with Karin + Peyton of Encounters Events – everytime we work together we have a blast!  It was a bonus to have such an amazing couple with Samantha + John. I love it when couples are open to my goofy and fun ideas – and when they ham it up – it’s soo much fun!! Sam + John were engaged in Las Vegas – John snuck the ring onto Sam’s desert and obviously she said yes!

They had their ceremony at St. Peter the Apostle Church in Liberytown MD, then partied it up at Stone Manor in Middletown, MD. What a beautiful day – the sky was so blue and the weather was a dream. Grapevines and sunsets are more than any photographer could ask for!
