The Oaks Wedding Photography | Maryland Wedding Photography | Julie + Adam

Spread the love

“Together is a wonderful place to be” – was the quote that Julie + Adam displayed on a vintage chalkboard on their wedding day. It was the day before hurricane Sandy hit, all was still and the light was incredible – the kind of light every photographer hopes for. Just bright enough with a cloud blanket filtering the sun, to let through a soft enveloping glow that wraps your subjects so perfectly… Both Missy and I arrived at the Oaks – one of our favorite venues – and it was like coming home, because everyone at the Oaks is so, so nice. It is a wonderful place for a wedding – very peaceful and intimate. I always love going there – it reminds me of an old New England House – with lots of nooks and crannies to get lost in. Julie’s Family actually owns a samll house in St. Michael’s MD, so they are very familiar with the area.

Julie + Adam had a first look at the corner of the famous Red Barn on The Oaks property – then we did all the pictures of family and bridal party right there. They had their ceremony on the lawn, along with the cocktail hour – then went inside for dinner and dancing. I was in love with Julie’s bouquets that she purchased on Etsy – hand made flowers that had such amazing texture and detail. They were very unique and personal, and fit perfectly with the vintage feel of the day. They ended the night with an exit through sparklers out in front of The Oaks. Congrats you two – thanks for allowing both Missy and I to document your day!
